Viet Hai Fishing Village is situated approximately 18km from Cat Ba Island, bordered by the towering mountains and lush jungles of Cat Ba National Park, within the Cat Hai district of Hai Phong city. Covering a modest area of around 15,000m2, the village is home to fewer than 100 households residing in simple dwellings crafted from bamboo, wood, leaves, and earth. Viet Hai Fishing Village seamlessly coexists with nature. According to local lore, their ancestors, who were fishermen, sought refuge here after encountering a severe storm. Discovering a source of fresh water, they decided to settle and have thrived in this location ever since. In keeping with their ancestral traditions, the villagers predominantly earn their livelihood through fishing, farming, and livestock rearing. Nestled amid a vast sea and seemingly untouched mountains, these small houses bear witness to a centuries-old culture.

Social evils and crimes are nearly nonexistent here; residents don’t even feel the need to lock their doors when leaving home, as incidents of theft are virtually unheard of.
